We loved everything about Natalie and Jacob’s Southern Indiana wedding! The two planned a perfectly quirky and adorable outdoor wedding at Cedar Ridge just outside of Seymour Indiana. They said “I do” under string lights in the woods, in front of a Teepee, and nailed shut a “first fight” box with love letters and a bottle of wine. The bride wore a two-piece boho wedding gown, a flower crown, and booties. The groom and his guys wore unique floral ties and leather suspenders.
Aside from their obvious unique style, the day was so lovely and personal. After knowing them together for a short time, everything fit their personalities so well! The two met in high school and it seems that Natalie had a not so secret crush on Jacob. They were opposites in many ways, but I guess that they say opposites attract for a reason! It was after high school that they reconnected and started dating. Jacob asked Natalie to marry him at a lantern festival in Louisville. He wrote a message on their Chinese lantern and Natalie happily said, “yes!”
Their wedding day was marked with laughter and joy. They dedicated a song to Natalie’s brother because it was his birthday (Relient K’s Sadie Hawkins Dance…which I have to admit brought me back to when I was 17) and Natalie had a choreographed dance with her grandfather to a Sinatra song. The guests were not shy of the dance floor….in fact, you wouldn’t have been able to get them off the dance floor! The couple wrapped up the evening in the most appropriate way. They passed out paper lanterns and lighters and everyone sent lanterns into the sky as a nod to the way their story together began. Before heading home we said our thank you’s, gave hugs all around, and swiped a few pieces of the best wedding cake we’ve ever had.
To Natalie and Jacob… Thank you for trusting us, for being vulnerable with us, for being honest and real on your wedding day. We loved being a part of your wedding and look forward to watching you grow in love and impact the lives of others!
