We’ve gotten a lot of questions in the last couple of weeks. So many of your were asking for updates on the house. When it came time to start packing up our apartment we were spending less time at the house and more time trying to purge household items. We spent a weekend with family in St. Louis and we shot a wedding. So much has been going on, the updates have been hard to keep up with! Here is the most important news you need to know about the house progress…
We moved in!
Yep! We have a house and we actually live in it now! The house if full of half unpacked boxes, the cabinets came in, but the counters will be a few weeks. Our appliances are here, but most of them are sitting in boxes in the garage. The wood floors are sooooo close to being complete. We’ve spend a lot of time vacuuming drywall dust and keeping our fingers crossed that we will find our passports somewhere in this mess 😉
Here are a few photos from the last couple of weeks, but check out the video update as well. By the way it might be a few weeks until our next update. Alex is leaving for Daytona Beach tomorrow and the following week we are leaving for Banff, Canada!
This is the start of our dark hardwood floors being installed. We love the window grids, and will probably stain them a bit darker to go with the floors.
The front room used to be a dark red and has lightened up by opening the staircase and some not-quite-white paint.
Another big change was the master bedroom with light walls and a navy accent wall.

And as soon as the wood was laid, we made ourselves a little living space. We’ll figure it out the longer we are here, but it’s a start!
We love you guys are are pumped to one day share a finished product with you. Although, i’ve been told it will never feel finished for the rest of our lives haha. Anyway, perhaps an open house or a party is in order sometime this summer. Stay tuned!
