We’ve seen a ton of different types of weddings. They aren’t all traditional, and they certainly don’t all include a DJ and a packed dance floor into the wee hours of the morning. Some couples are going for a more intimate backyard feel. These couples may opt for karaoke, blankets and an outdoor movie, tall tables to encourage conversation, or offer some fun patio games for their wedding guests to have fun while enjoying the good company. People love yard games, especially here in Southern Indiana… when is the last time you went to a get together that didn’t include corn hole?!
We’ve gathered up some patio games that aren’t just fun – they are stylish too! Here are our wedding worth finds:
Check out these inflatable movie screens from Louisville Inflatables. Play your favorite romantic comedy in the backgound of your receptions, or get a Disney movie on the big screen for the little ones to enjoy. You can rent AV equipment from the Doo Wop Shop or borrow a projector and speakers from a friend.
Skip the preschool primary colors and grab a few sets of these wooden giant connect four game with wood and white colored discs. It’s fun and nostalgic with a neutral color palette, and I bet the seller would customize it for you!
How cool are these white bounce houses?! We’ve seen these all over the internet as the new favorite outdoor wedding activity. The all white back drop allows you to customize it and make it as fun as you’d like. You can add a balloon or floral installation to really make it feel festive. Don’t forget to coax your wedding party into the bounce house for some photos + video! This company will rent to couples all over the US.
We have so many amazing florists in the Southern Indiana / Louisville area. Wouldn’t it be fun to work with your wedding florist to purchase buckets of stems allowing your wedding guests to make and take their own small floral arrangement home with them as a favor. Maybe find a local flower truck, like Fleur & Frond, that will park at your reception and help guests create special table arrangements or bouquets.
Giant Jenga is an easy win, and these personalized sets from etsy are so cute! The downside is that these big blocks of wood can be bulky and hard to carry around, so this one comes with the perfect carrying case and storage.
If your wedding guests don’t know each other very well and you want to encourage them to interact and mingle, you could provide a cute little bingo game during cocktail hour. This will let your extroverted guests have a blast, and give your introverted ones something to do! Here is a printable we found on etsy.
We hope this patio game round up encouraged you to think outside the box and get creative for your unique wedding reception. Hit us up in the comments if you have more ideas, or suggestions for great rentals in the area!
